Colon hydrotherapy for IBS

Experiencing cramping, diarrhea or constipation, or both, abnormal bloating, gas, indigestion, burping and brain fog? Sounds like IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).

What is IBS?

IBS is an umbrella term - like chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia - in the medical world as ‘gut issues with no known medical cause’.

But Isolating IBS to simply being a gut issue doesn’t consider the many inter-related body systems that are involved such as the gut-brain axis - where our gut fires many neurons to our brain via the highway rout called the vagus nerve.

The gut is clearly irritated and communicating that to you. But by what exactly?

Here are a few reasons:

  • Stress (!!!) – stressed people carry stress in their neck, jaw or shoulders. IBS sufferers carry their stress in their digestive system. Stress and emotional tension causes them to "hold on" – ie constipation. Stress can also be experienced with anxiety, in a way, releasing the digestive system – ie diarrhoea. Stress doesn't have to be physically stressed out, for example at work, it includes mental and emotional stress.

  • Food intolerances – essential to find out which foods are triggering digestive upsets. Here is a test I use to find out quicky!

  • Hypothyroidism – aka underactive thyroid – a slower metabolism can cause constipation, bloating and cramping. There are so many nutrients like Vitamin D, iron and zinc, needed to keep that thyroid working perfectly - many of which most people are deficient in!

  • Dysbiosis – an imbalance of beneficial and pathogenic miro-organisms – affecting gut motility and causing pain.

  • Inflammation of the gut lining – also altering gut motility and causing pain.

  • SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacteria overgrowth) – a condition where the normal bacteria in your small intestine are not being shifted down into the large bowel, leading to an overgrowth causing IBS-like symptoms. Interestingly, 70% of IBS cases are caused by SIBO.

  • Certain medications – especially antibiotics and antidepressants, and medications containing sorbitol.

The crazy thing is, it is so common to be/have most of the above, which all need addressing. ASAP.

Can Colon Hydrotherapy Help?

Abso-freakin-lutely!

Colon Hydrotherapy is a safe, effective method of removing waste from the large intestine, without the use of drugs. By introducing double-filtered, temperature and pressure regulated water into the colon, the kilos and kilos of waste is softened and loosened, resulting in evacuation through natural peristalsis (how it works oppositely to laxatives).

Colonics help with balancing all microflora, therefore when the large intestine is balanced, it is easier for the small intestine and immune system to also be in balance. But omg there are so many benefits of colonics that are not just for the colon - learn more about the benefits here.

What does the research say? Based on several clinical trials, colonics have been safe and effective at reducing abdominal pain, bloating, constipation and diarrhoea associated with IBS. I can totally back this up from the 1000's of colonics I've performed. The difference a series of colonics (sometimes even just a single session) have on patient's is mind blowing. The most common feedback I hear is 'I feel so much lighter physically and mentally' or 'people are noticing that my eyes and skin are glowing'.

It’s time to beat the gut symptoms and get our bugs back in balance!
